But, it is being worked on by SMU folks, so that is why Sterling couldn't mention it in the paper. There is a decent amount of material with the specimen.

David: you should ask the authors that question; Bill was not an author of the Nesbitt et al. 2009 paper.220myahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06403919493457640549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519292617097628087.post-62403162255906245092009-11-30T10:42:10.921-07:002009-11-30T10:42:10.921-07:00What I had in mind in my previous post was the SMU...What I had in mind in my previous post was the SMU material. I assume it is older than the Ghost Ranch material and was under the impression that there was quite a bit of it. When I placed data from your new description into a larger analysis covering the gamut of the Amniota Vancleavea nested outside of the 12. And, contrary to my earlier postulate that Vancleavea might be related to Cerritosaurus, that is also an error. I sent Alex my tree and some further notes. Get with him and then we should discuss this.

David PetersD.P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13009843520057633239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519292617097628087.post-11402325393266143612009-11-28T23:06:16.060-07:002009-11-28T23:06:16.060-07:00Bryan,

That said, because Vancleavea has such a long range I'd be surprised if V. campi was that long lived, but it will take more well-preserved specimens from a variety of levels to test this.Bill Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05941940882532354219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519292617097628087.post-17669509450095995012009-11-28T20:34:59.447-07:002009-11-28T20:34:59.447-07:00Bryan - I don't think its possible to do much ...Bryan - I don't think its possible to do much more on the single/multiple species issue than you and Sterling et al. have done in the new paper. Right now its not possible to say much on this topic until we discover more complete material from different localities from older statigraphic levels.220myahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06403919493457640549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519292617097628087.post-84506102443531487512009-11-28T19:25:27.485-07:002009-11-28T19:25:27.485-07:00Bill, are you going to tackle the single or multip...Bill, are you going to tackle the single or multiple species issue?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11519730488083762898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519292617097628087.post-34623577071554251762009-11-28T19:10:00.273-07:002009-11-28T19:10:00.273-07:00What an interesting specimen--I'd never heard ...What an interesting specimen--I'd never heard of it.
